The baseball team has added 2 more to an already impressive list of 2028 commits: Colton Small a LHP out of Grand Rapids, Michigan The bigger name though that committed is: Jake Welch, SS/INF out of Lehi, Utah. If Theo Swafford is the top SS/INF, then Jake is probably no. 3/4 at SS/INF. The...

Now, I wouldn't have put this in the baseball thread, but when both the baseball team and softball team land the No.1 player in the 2028 class it gets added. No. 1 Michaela Landers, believe she is a SS. She plays at Waxahachie. Her mom is a former point guard for Texas.

Another big time 2028 recruit commits to Texas in: No.1 player in 2028, SS Theo Swafford. This is another CA player. Now, I don't know if he will make it in. A lot depends on if the MLBPA and MLB owners can agree to put something in the new CBA. The current CBA ends after the world...

The Longhorn baseball team has added 3 top end pitchers 3 straight days. All 3 were at the ohio state vs Texas football game this past weekend. All 3 are a part of the 2028 class. The latest is RHP Chase Cotton out of CA. He has 3 high end pitches: FB: 93-95 Curveball: 81-84 ( spin rate...

Texas has announced that they will play a game this fall against Houston.

The Longhorn baseball team had several recruits at the football game this past weekend. There are thoughts that the staff knows of multiple recruits commiting to them, but allow the kids to announce at their time. 1 that has announced is 2028 RHP Parker Klug. Now whether he or any others...

A judge on Friday granted a temporary injunction to the 12 players or so an extra yr of eligibility. Weaver has to find a new home probably either SMU or LSU. The bad thing is Florida might be getting one of these guys that is really good back from last year's team. Same goes with Vandy...

The NCAA subcommittee voted to move forward with the ABS system for all of D1 baseball. Now just waiting on full vote of the NCAA which should pass it.. Bot who knows with the NCAA. It should work like it did at the SEC tournament this past season. The batter, catchers, and/or pitchers...

So, we did add another outfielder in Campbell outfielder Carlos Lugo. He was a freshman this past season. He did put some good numbers up. But not against anything like some SEC teams. This gives Texas 4 portal outfielders to go with Pack Jr and J. Williams. Only Pack Jr has one outfield...

We are probably just over 2 weeks from having a update roster on texasports.com. Also, one of the last press conference had by Coach Schloss until January/February. Unless something happens. Have been told the staff believes that there is at least 1 more portal players if not 2. Don't know...

The baseball team awards have been announced for the 2026 season: Luke Harrison -- James and Huston Street Award. This award recognizes the player who most embodies what it means to be a Longhorn through leadership, selflessness, and integrity both off and on the field. Anthony Pack Jr --...

Haiden Leffew signed an UDFA deal either Saturday or Monday with Tampa Bay Rays. Now, from what I've heard the staff would have liked to have him back, but not surprised he went this route. Again the staff is looking for players in the portal, but also love all the top notch young arms...

LSU has their money man spending crazy money. SC-- new coach for Coastal Carolina and they are bringing in most of those players. Fake ut -- numbers not quality Georgia -- only signed 5 HS commits. They spend on portal and are hoping it works out. Getting LSU -Paz and Texas--J. Flores. Good...

Not certain of the criteria as someone missed: Avery Bradley being the #1 HS commit in 2009 And Miles Turner being the #2 HS commit in 2014. Neither were mentioned in that list. Now, I do agree that TJ Ford was the best player out of HS. But he, Ford, was considered the 2nd or 3rd PG in...
