I thought Georgia had more talent overall from top to bottom. The night Texas played Washington, Penix was on fire. His passes were like a video game. Accordingly, everything was clicking for them. The following game against Michigan his passing was average along with the rest of Washington's performance. For the season, Georgia was better. The night Washington played Texas, I thought Washington was the better team (of Georgia and Washington).

I felt that we matched better against Michigan. That year our run defense was better than our pass defense. At the time I was hoping that we would meet Michigan in the semifinal.
