The SEC thread

Auburn is moving 2026 game vs. Baylor to Atlanta for NIL benefits. I wonder how long before college uniforms look like NASCAR and mascots have sponsors. I'm joking of course, but this is getting ridiculous. Then again, I can see the sooner schooner sponsored by Big Red Dealers for great deals on closing inventory - Buy a car and a 5 star.

I don't understand the SEC ruling on Auburn at goal line. Auburn has had two calls that has effected games: Oklahoma, which officials admitted they missed, and the sneak ruled fumble against Georgia in favor of Georgia.

From the replay I saw he scored. The nose of the ball crossed the leading edge of the goal line. Officiating in general is being dumbed down. They only place the ball on a hash mark, never in between. When was the last time you saw a chain gang come out to measure for first down?

I'll let you guess who this is:

"“You know, in all my years coaching, I’ve never seen something this blatant. When a player goes for the ball, you know it. When he goes for the man — that’s intentional. That hit? It was deliberate. No question. And don’t sit there and tell me otherwise. Because we all saw what happened afterward. The words. The smirks. The attitude. That reveals what kind of game was being played. I won’t name names — the room knows who I’m talking about. But here’s a message to the NCAA: we’re tired of these invisible lines, these soft calls, these protections for certain teams. You claim to stand for fairness, integrity. Yet day after day we see you turn a blind eye when dirty hits are delivered under the guise of “incidental contact.” If this is what college football has become — if your so-called “standards” are nothing but a façade — then you’ve failed us. And I’m not going to stand by and watch my team get run over under rules you refuse to enforce."

I assume he wasn't referring to the perpetual holding.

Ole Miss leading UGA 35 - 26 with 4:12 remaining in the 3rd quarter.

Georgia 43
Oke Miss 35

I smile thinking about how ESPN use to pump SEC - over the top I may add - with Jesse Palmer ending every comment with "SEC defense."
