The SEC thread

Interesting that Thorpe Award finalist Malaki Starks didn't make first team All SEC

Vanderbilt's QB Pavia has played two seasons at a JUCO, two seasons at New Mexico State, and one season at Vandy. Thats five seasons.

He will now return to play a sixth season after filing a lawsuit against the NCAA because he says the JUCO years should not count since he couldn't earn NIL money there.

smh.

Once the genie is released there is no putting it back in the bottle. The portal might as well be free agency though. Its just shopping for NIL or agent games to get schools to ante up. Im not complaining though because this gives Texas an advantage.

I was thinking Pandora's Box, but your comp is just as good. This thing isn't done evolving yet. Contracts are coming.
The only ones truly benefitting from this are the agents. Players move 2 to three times during their NCAA years, their education suffers and they really don't build relationships with the alumni network that would help them in the future.

Pandora's Box is a better analogy.

Contracts may ultimately be the solution. Under the current model there is really not mechanism to put restrictions on the players. Contracts could include some more benefits from players but also require them to give up some freedom.

Florida used Desmond Watson, 6'5", 450 lb tackle on 3rd and 1. He is huge! He made two yards. Florida fans went crazy. The next play he played fullback He lead play with a block. He later did the Heisman pose. Too funny.
