The athletic season is definitely winding down. There were no sporting events for Texas yesterday.

Golf and Tennis are in NCAA post-season play. Track is heading to SEC championships. Softball starts SEC championship today.

Baseball and rowing are the only two sports still in the regular season.
I lied, rowing has SEC championship this weekend.

only 2 more weeks of regular season baseball and its all championship competition after that.

Manning to Wingo all season long.
Has anyone found out why Cook's relationship with Texas soured so quickly?

On Texas Football presented a difficult question to Rod Babers and the audience. Who was the best safety to play at Texas? Huff, Vacaro, Thomas or someone else?

Which metric do you use? Bobby Dillon is the only defensive back from Texas to be elected to NFL Hall of Game as a defensive back. He played safety. He still holds Green Bay Packers interception record.

Tom Landry was selected to NFL Hall of Fame as a coach, not as a defensive player. Clayborn has been nominated, but never voted into Hall of Fame.

I thought Clayborn was a CB. If you want to mix Bradley into it you have to consider Steinmark.

I loved Steinmark's play and his personal story, but I think he was a shade behind Bradley and certainly behind Clayborn. Clayborn did play some CB while at Texas but did his best at safety.

Few years back we went to Nashville to visit our son who was a travel nurse and was stationed there. Went to the country music museum. As luck would have it, the had a huge display on Texas music that bloomed with Willie, Waylon, Jerry Jeff, etc. Long live the Armadillo. One part of the display was on the relationship between Coach and Willie. Was pretty cool. My wife also had to explain to some of the people there that Luckenbach was a real town 😄😄

I've been through Luckenbach. Nobody there was feeling no pain. Just feuding like the Hatfields and McCoys.

It was a town when I was a kid. It's all unincorporated now, although the area surrounding it is starting to be developed and growing in population quickly.

I have done a little digging regarding the hype surrounding Arch. People keep wanting to downplay his experience. Here are some stats.
90 attempts - 67.8 completion rate - 9 Td's - 1 in 10 attempts - 939 yards - 2 int's.
That's not bad against air as a RS freshman.
25 rushing attempts which include TFL's and sacks for 108 yards and 4 TD's - one score for 67 yards. Some of y'all are more more worried about burnt orange sunglasses to give this guy a chance. And before y'all start about competition, I don't care. He was a RS freshman.
