[SIZE=14pt]As you know, for the better part of 2014 the site offered a premium subscription option to members wishing to access various content produced by the HornSports staff. At $4.99/month, the premium subscription choice was successful. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=14pt]After revisiting our long-term strategy, we are excited to announce that HornSports is switching from a subscription-based revenue model to an advertising-based model. What that means for current members is that readers will now be able to access 100% of the site’s content without paying a monthly fee.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=14pt]While the premium option will be removed, the content will remain the same and continue to improve – the only difference is that everyone will have complete access without any cost to them. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=14pt]The site plans to increase our efforts in 2015, including the provision of more recruiting coverage and more presence at UT sporting events. HornSports covered every home and away football game from the press box and we were present for 100% of the football staff’s press conferences. We plan to provide similar coverage for UT basketball and baseball this year while maintaining the same high-level of coverage for football.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=14pt]Essentially, we feel that there is a niche that HornSports can fill by running a high-quality, free site that gives members a personal experience with UT Athletics.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=14pt]What this means for current Premium Members:[/SIZE]
[SIZE=14pt]· [/SIZE][SIZE=14pt]Premium Members that purchased an Annual Subscription: You will be entitled to a refund of the pro-rated amount of your subscription.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=14pt]· [/SIZE][SIZE=14pt]Premium Members with month-to-month renewals: Your subscription will be cancelled and your credit card will not be charged after January 1st, 2015.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=14pt]· [/SIZE][SIZE=14pt]If your monthly or annual payment is sent using Paypal, please contact Aaron at aaron@hornsports.com and he will walk you through the necessary steps in Paypal to ensure cancellation of your recurring PayPal payment.[/SIZE]
