Ouch, that hurt.

Georgia smacked us good last week and Texas cannot afford to let a loss become two losses. We must put this behind us and Sark needs to figure the QB situation out.

#5 Texas (6-1) at #25 Vanderbilt (5-2)
Saturday, Oct. 26. Game time is 3:15 p.m.
FirstBank Stadium. Nashville, Tenn.
ESPN Matchup Projector – Texas 90.6%, Vanderbilt 9.4%
Weather – Game time temperature of 78 degrees. WInds out of the NNW at 10-15 mph. 14% chance of rain.

I have heard that QE was upset about being pulled Saturday. I'm sorry, but so what? QE was downright AWFUL last Saturday. If he's a team-first guy, he should have welcomed the change. He was as ineffective as one could be. He was a statue back there, seemingly not able to move and not going through his reads. Several times you (viewers) could see a man open, and then QE goes to the guy who has tight coverage.

Is he fully rehabbed? Does he need a shrink? What gives QE? You play like that again and you deserve to lose your job. Our OL can stop worrying about the Joe Moore Award now that we crapped our pants in front of EVERYONE.

Vanderbilt presents all kinds of challenges for us. They have a QB who can hurt you through the air AND with his legs. He's a pretty sharp kid who makes good decisions and is not a statue back there.

And this game will be played on the road. Hopefully, we get a good week of practice and remain focused for the road game.

This video doesn’t show the coverage. Only thing you can see is the check downs taken away by the backers. Georgia was disguising their coverages very well.

When Vandy wins time of possession this year they win the game. Period. When they don't they have lost both.

I have no idea what to think about this Vandy team. They beat Bama, Ky and VaTech, but lost to Georgia St and struggled with Ball State. What a weird sentence I just wrote. Hopefully Texas comes out and smacks them down hard. No offense to Vandy, but Texas needs to destroy this next opponent.

Texas' weekly injury report, below. Vogel is saying don't expect Mukuba or Bond to play Saturday.

True but he should have stepped up into the pocket regardless.
It looks to me like he's scared. I'm not saying he's a coward... perhaps he's still hurt (thumb or abdomen)? But he's not stepping up into the pocket - rather he's trying to escape pressure by running backwards. He's also short-arming throws under pressure (perhaps because the thumb injurie is in his head). I saw this after the BAMA injury a couple of years ago too. It lasted quite some time. I don't know if he comes back before he's ready or if the effects just linger in his head. He played his junior year of high school with a painful hernia I understand....

We've got a shot at the playoffs and more. I don't know how long you fool around with someone playing in a way that he hurts the team. I doubt past Vanderbilt.

I am hoping this is the game we can re-establish Blue as the lead back. Give him equal carries to Wisner.

His speed is just too elite and we need to figure out if we can rely on him to take care of the rock. Hopefully he’s improved his blocking too!

Vanderbilt converts 52% of their 3rd downs. That will be a very important factor in this game for us, can we hold them well under their average mark. In games they have won they succeed about 60% of the time, their losses, <40%. They aren't very explosive but will nickle and dime you down the field and let Pavia convert on 3rd/4th and short to medium.

We gotta got them off the field in these situations.

The front seven needs to stuff their run

Vandy leads the SEC in:

-3rd down conversion rate
-Time of Possession
-Turnover Margin

Offensively, Texas wins this game if they establish the run. Everything else revolves around that.

I just saw where Vanderbilt's stadium has a capacity of only 39,790. That has to be the smallest stadium we've played in since Wyominig.
