I still think there is something to the Sark rumors, if they are true, do you think he would come out and say, "yes, they are true"; hahaha

Kiffin to Texas could be a thing

Well he did beat OU. That's a big Texas resume enhancer.

It wouldn't completely surprise me either. I know they are paid handsomely.... but the quality of life outside of work has to be miserable for a college coach.... and now the NIL thing? NFL coaches at least have an offseason. I wouldn't blame any college coach for jumping to another means of employment.

I don't get it. Sark's coaching has never come under more scrutiny due to the lackluster results. On the heels of that, he's going to advance to the NFL?

College head coaches are "on duty" 24/7 365 days a year. They have HS recruiting, glad (donor/alumni) handling, portal recruiting, NIL, school administration and coaching duties. I really don't see why any one would want this job for any kind of money. Win or get canned.

An yes, it is just as brutal in the NFL when it comes to winning but at least you have an off season to "unwind".

Maybe he is (or his people are) envisioning the Kingsbury route. TT to Arizona Cardinals... UT to Tennessee Titans?

I think it is telling that no other NFL writers have come out and stood by Russini's report. She had one bullet point on it at the end of a long article. No one else on the NFL side has confirmed it. Only heard from Sark and college writers disputing it.

I think it is nothing than a small leverage play from Sexton that blew up because this is Texas and it is what we do... lol

With three big names off the board because of extensions the pool seems to be shrinking in quality. It is starting to feel like the year Texas had to settle for Charlie Strong.

Any time you make a coaching change you are always rolling the dice. This year the cost will be high, but the odds of success will be low.

I wonder if this will make schools like Auburn,Wisconsin and Florida State consider giving their coaches another year.

South Carolina has fired offensive coordinator Mike Shula just nine games into his first season in the role. Not a good sign.

OC Fired

I understand this is big business, but giving a coach less than 3 years...I don't know. Did he really have a chance to make a change with someone else's guys? Sure the portal can help but just to fill in a couple of holes, not a whole roster. Sure, everyone wants to compete for the championship but in truth only a few teams have a real chance.

This firing just shows they made a mistake hiring him in the first place and now have to start over. What coach is going to want 2 years to get this program "winning"? Seems to me they are going to settle for an "up and coming" first time coach or have to pony up big time buyout money.

Jimmy Sexton has become a huge problem in the hiring of coaches and AD's. His greed may destroy college football. What happens if he starts representing players?

Tceh pretty much filled their roster.

Clearly you haven't watched Auburn play. Lol it's like Charlie Strong at Texas. It is obvious when it isn't working.

Is it Sexton's fault for doing his job? These schools are profiting millions off the football teams. I think it's only fair the coaches get their cut of it.

If the schools couldn't afford it then the wouldn't be offering it to the coaches. Schools aren't hurting from this.

yup. Auburn has shown zero improvement during Freeze's 2.5 years...

He profits from the buyouts and then makes his percentage off of the next contract if its his client that gets hired and that is very likely. It is a conflict of interest at the very least.

No conflict for him. He only owes a duty to the coaches not the schools. The schools are where the problems exist.
