SignUp Now!that sounds like an forced retirement. I don't see any long time coach doing something like that without having a "coach in waiting" in place. Anyone hear anything? So, Bruce Pearl retired on Tuesday. There is about 40+ days before the start of the season. Interesting that he waited until the start of the fall semester before retiring. Will be interesting to see how many players are willing to play for the new coach and how many leave. Same goes with recruits.
Didn’t his son become the head coach. If so, sounds like me that he waited until his players didn’t have an option to transfer so he could give his son a leg up for his first season. Yes, his son took over. His son that only has maybe 10 yrs. of coaching as an associate head coach that his dad was the head coach. And he probably only got the head coaching job because his dad took an ambassador role in the Athletic department. Sounds like a major fail, but I'm good with that.Didn’t his son become the head coach.
