SignUp Now!I’m as excited about this hire as I was the Satk hire. Luckily, I have no sway in the athletic department. (To be fair, I thought Sark was a solid hire, but held the right to reserve judgment)I just cannot get excited about this hire. Hope that expectations are exceeded.
I am excited. If he gives us the same as he gave Arizona, we’ll be happy. At Xavier he had no NIL budget to speak of and still produced.I just cannot get excited about this hire. Hope that expectations are exceeded.
Great post. This is exactly how I feel. I think he is an upgrade to Terry, but just how much of an upgrade remains to be seen. I do know the offense will be much improved. One thing about basketball over football is that you don't have to wait 2-3 years to build the program. If you get the right freshman, the team can be successful in year 1.I’m as excited about this hire as I was the Satk hire. Luckily, I have no sway in the athletic department. So you are saying, we are a football school and can never become a basketball school with the enticement of the right coach? No offense, but making it past the first weekend in the NCAA tournament sounds like you’re settling.I like this hire. I don’t think we are or were ever getting a top 10 coach to leave for Texas. But I do think Miller is a top 20 coach in all of basketball. Pair that with Texas resources, and we should consistently advance past the first weekend of March madness.

Hell, I'll give him a chance. I have been emotionally disconnected with Texas BB for quite some time. I was optimistic about Beard but we know how that turned out. I guess if you can't beat them, just hire their coach.....

What about her Nike NIL?Aaliyah Chavez commits to ou
I would have liked Calapari. I know he has a large buyout, but I’m thinking there is money availableI'm curious as to what top 10 coach do you and a few others think we could've/should've gone after that is better than Miller? He did a really good job of bringing Arizona back to where it once was. Yes, there is the FBI investigation with the shoe dealings allow with players getting paid (as well as some coaches that were big time recruiters), but we were also involved in that as well. But whom do you or others think we should've gone after that was at the affordable buyout that CDC would've done? Or is it that some think it's an NIL deal issue?

I take this as confirmation our NIL fund isn’t in the game of paying a single player &1m+ (ok, maybe certain football or men’s basketball players). I get it, if you have a certain budget for the overall team it’s hard to allocate most to a couple players. I wonder what our basketball NIL budget is?Her loss
Nobody really jumps out as a sure fire super coach but I wouldn’t mind seeing what Mark Few could do with our resources. Kelvin Sampson is another (I know he was at blow U).
