Miller began his head coaching career at Xavier in the 2004-05 season. During his initial five-year tenure (2004-2009), he led the Musketeers to a 120-47 record and four NCAA tournament appearances, including an Elite Eight run. Miller returned to Xavier in 2022 and led the team to a 27-10 record in his first season back, tying the school record for BIG EAST wins (15-5) and reaching the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.
From 2009-2021, Miller was the head coach at Arizona. During his time in Tucson, Miller led Arizona to five regular season conference championships, three conference tournament championships and holds a PAC-12 win percentage that trails only John Wooden and Lute Olsen.
Miller was named the PAC-12 Coach of the Year three times at Arizona and led the Wildcats to four Elite Eights.
Officially, the same reason we fired Rick Barnes - looking for a fresh start. I think there were some recruiting/compliance type issues too, but I don’t think that’s an issue in the NIL ageAnyone know why he was fired from Arizona?

Often under performed the high expectations due to amazing recruiting classes. Then had a few bad seasons. As another stated, also some other issues.Anyone know why he was fired from Arizona?

He was exonerated of all charges. As part of that investigation, Miller was accused of being involved in then-illicit payments to make sure DeAndre Ayton went to Arizona instead of Kansas. Arizona made the NCAA tournament seven times in Miller's tenure, but the Wildcats missed the tournament in both 2019 and 2021.3 hours ago
I’m not sure if exoneration is the right word. Let’s say there was no smoking gun. His assistant coach plead guilty. However, I believe before NIL almost every team was paying players one way or another. I don’t believe it was only adidas teams. He was exonerated of all charges.
What?!?! Next you’ll tell me the SEC was cheating in football before paying players was legalI’m not sure if exoneration is the right word. Let’s say there was no smoking gun.
