Texas Longhorn major (top 3 on both sides) Athletic programs overview:

Mens
Football - playoff semifinal and #1 at some point

Basketball - bottom of the SEC, will not make bracket

Baseball - Season is early, but riding a 12 game winning streak and moving up the rankings

Women's
Volleyball - Kind of a down year, but still made playoffs. Young team and just came off a NC

Basketball - co-SEC Reg season Champion, Currently ranked #1 and in the SEC tourney championship. Shoe in to be a #1 seed in NCAA tourney.

Softball - Currently ranked #1 or #2. Will be there for SEC crown and vying for a NC.

Soccer (although I heard the ladies did well this year), track, swimming, diving, tennis, golf and others I don't follow very closely.

Tell me which one of these programs is not like the others. Five of the six major programs are on the rise or at the top of the mountain. It's time CDC. Thank goodness the women's program is able to fill the brand new Moody Center.

Soccer is decent but Angela Kelly probably needs to go soon. Hasn't gotten the team past the sweet 16 ever.

T&F is having a bad year but they have had a lot of recent success to excuse that.

Tennis, Men are top 4 and Women top 16 this year. Both have won big recently.

Golf - similar to tennis to be honest.

Rowing is the best program in the nation.

Beach Volleyball is just getting off the ground but already a NCAA tournament level team, top 16ish.

So yes, one of these is not like the other. CDC will not be happy with basketballs performance.

The women are down at half 33-16 to S Carolina in Greenville SC which is basically a home game for them.

The ladies’ team just does not seem to have the depth that they need in order to compete with South Carolina.

This ladies team is tough, gritty and plays some great defense. The biggest downfall for this team is scoring points, particularly from the outside. When they matchup with an athletic and talented team like SCAR who just doubles and triple teams the post play, then It falls on Booker. If Booker is off then they struggle. Imo, This team is missing that one ingredient, consistent outside shooting, to make them elite.

Someone like Aliyah Chavez would be a great addition!

Wasn't one of their best players lost for the year before the season started? I just don't follow the ladies as closely to give a name.

A. Moore is out with a knee injury, but she is a post player. She is a solid post player and good rebounder, but still doesn't help with outside shooting to space the other team out. I honestly expected more consistent outside shooting from Hollie. Rory Harmon is a great PG and is solid in the mid-range game. Booker is just a scorer and can get her shot, but is limited from outside the arc.

Also lost Laila Phelia for the year with a retinal detachment. She has been a scorer at Michigan, 16 points a game, but not a big 3 point shooter. Career 33% 3 pt shooter with about 3 attempts a game.

I completely forgot about her. Did she play at all this year?

I find it difficult to believe the Lady Horns' 3 pt % was higher than their opponents for the year.

32.8% for South Carolina (42.9 and 23 (vs 12% for Texas) in their two wins over us. Notre Dame 39% (47% vs us).

This is the achilles heel for our team. An opponent with enough athleticism to give us fits on offense who can turn around and score points against our defense with 3 pt shooting.
