That's interesting. Every time a recruit commits to Oregon, every one points to Phil Knight. Ryan Day of OSU actually boasted they were. Little brother bought a lot of bitcoins (and the Bitcoin market crashed).

PS - The Wall Street Journal reported that Keren Zhu, graduate of Michigan and 33 year old wife of Larry Ellison of Oracle, had a lot of influence of flipping Bryce Underwood from LSU with huge $$$$$$$$ NIL

Well, the reply in that exchange was sarcasm. :)

I didn't mean offense. I didn't intend for the post towards you, although I did hit respond (to your post). 🙄

My response was meant in regard to the "other" responses and posters when a 4 or 5 star commits elsewhere. I should have read the whole conversation. My apologies for the ill-timed and misplaced post.

No apology necessary my friend. I was not offended by your post in any way. Hook'em!

I read some of the Georgia forums about Terry and NIL. Most of the fans seemed to understand it. Some were butthurt of course like we all get when we lose a recruit. They mentioned it as Texas Oil money but in the end, that is what the NIL brought to table for these kids. Love it or hate it, you cant really blame the recruits for it. Its business now. We lose out on recruits as well.

Texas has a lot of momentum, 2 years in a row to the CFP plus what kids wouldnt like playing for Sark and living in Austin. Thats tough to beat regardless of the big money.

I remember the 2022 #1 class the ags bought with Stewart, Nolan, Harris, etc. Saban called them out "the best money can buy". That class didnt do much and most transferred out. Lack of development and maybe some locker room poison. Sark has done a great job on building team chemistry and culture. The big money NIL just makes it easier for school like Texas.

Yes, I love what Sark has done with the culture. I think it is important to remember, that this is a college, and that these guys coming in are mostly 18 year olds. They are not grown men, and are not just “meat”.
Baylor got into a lot of trouble a few years back bringing in thugs to try to get over the top.
I don’t think Sark will ever do that.
He has built a hell of a team.
I am Damn proud to be a longhorn fan !

Holy cow! It’d be easier to list who’s not enrolling early

With #1 recruiting class, was there any areas you were disappointed in?

I think we all thought at one point or another that DL would be a position we didn't succeed at. However, with retaining Sharma in the class, getting Myron Charles and landing the big fish late – that posiiton is now a strength of the class.

I trust Flood, but the number of 3 stars on the OL class concerns me for now.
