2024-2025 Transfer Portal Thread

I know contracts, or should I say better contracts, are supposed to fix the issue. But until then, Nebraska has resorted to this:

No Spring Game

That is a sad testimony of where things are in college footbal. It's the wild west again with no policing of the schools.

There has to be an answer for tampering otherwise we're moving toward the end of college football as we know it.

Link doesn't work, here is a working link.

Realistically college football has changed drastically, and with revenue sharing coming, and likely an end to the walk on programs, it's already not as what we knew it, and moving further away.

Hopefully they come up with some solutions to the tampering, and excessive transfers. Only time will tell, Maybe Joel Klat's proposal of only one transfer as part of some kind of collective bargains agreement could work.

Collective bargaining is a must.

Right now, anything that limits players rights is seen as collusion (the schools, conferences, etc making rules that limit players without the players having a seat at the table).

The one thing protecting high school is there probably aren’t any programs that are revenue generating, so the schools aren’t profiting off the players. The only reason any of the public school programs exist is tax dollars from the community. That said, I wonder if hs players (or mom and dad) can now be given NIL money to encourage them to move to a district.

Parents are already moving their kids to different districts and in more sports than football. Giving mom and/or jobs in the past in certain cities to have them move there for football has happened before, like in the 70's and probably before then.

Probably should have added “move without repercussions”. Before all this, districts could rule a kid ineligible if deemed improper benefits. Now, can school districts prohibit a kid (or his family) from making some money?
