2024-2025 Transfer Portal Thread

32-year old?

Oldest player in NCAA.

Australian and didn't start football until age 28.

One of the odd things about college athletics and eligibility, no rules regarding age. Perhaps they should start the clock after high school graduation and stop eligibility 6-8 years later. Gotta finish your college career by age 24-26ish.

IMO, if you're 32 years old and still not making a living, something is wrong.

He's closer to 40 than he is the age of college athletes.

What are the rules? I'm so confused. He entered the portal, signed with another team and now the portal is closed. How can he return to Tech?

Based on precedent it seems like players can transfer at will outside the portal windows. I would guess the bigger issue is that the enrollment deadline likely passed, so he may not be eligible for spring work.

This reminds me a bit of Bru McCoy who left usc for Texas, then returned to usc. I think he was a sixth or seventh year senior at tennessee this year.

At any rate he seem like a major distraction that may or may not work through his issues, sure glad he didn't choose Texas last year.
