Thru 6 compete Texas leads 1-0. BTW, arkie lost to Florida

Arkansas now 4 games behind Texas.

Teams ranked 5 and 6 in the SEC, Vanderbilt and Ole miss play this weekend. Ole Miss beat Vandy in game 1 and now both teams are 6 games back.

LSU and Tennessee were tied for 3rd at 12-6. LSU wins game 1 and is now tied with Arkansas at 4 games back.

Our best starter and two best relievers went last night. Did an amazing job giving up 0 ERs.

We need a solid start from Harrison today and hopefully we are in a position to try to close it out with remaining high quality arms - could use Thomas Burns, Jason Flores. Volantis has pitched in back to back days but he threw 40 pitches yesterday so maybe not. Grubbs hasn't gone back to back but only threw 19 yesterday.

Lots easier on the pitching staff if the offense can produce a big number.

Top of the 8th, aggy gets a leadoff double. Grubbs strikeouts the next guy. Volantis comes in strikeout the aggy top homerun hitter. 2 ours. A pop up and Schuessler doesn't catch it. The runner scores. 2-1. Volantis ends the rally with his 2nd strikeout

I blame the announcers. They started talking about the last time Texas shut-out aggy (2010, 8-0 Texas in collie station) and then that daym mile high infield pop-up happened. We've had people do stuff like that in game thread and jinx us. You don't mess with the sports Gods!

Always good to beat aggy, in anything!
