**Running College Football Updates Thread**

You constantly speaking in absolutes makes it difficult to take what you say seriously sometimes. Saying an FSU team at full strength would have no shot at beating Georgia is just silly, and getting the result you expected when FSU had 25+ opt-outs doesn't mean much. My point is that im annoyed that we dont even get the chance to see it. Of course I don't blame the players for not putting their NFL futures at risk. That's just common sense.

Point being, ive been watching college football since the 90s (im a young buck compared to most here it seems 😂), and maybe it's different for some people, but I love the sport of college football across the board and hate seeing what the Bowl season has turned into, especially after all the great NY6/BCS bowl games we got during the 2000s (I mean, how great were those Rose Bowl and Fiesta bowl wins over Michigan and Ohio St when players weren't opting out and it was the best vs the best, among other great BCS bowl game matchups, right?).

Again, the 12 team playoff is on the way so we'll be getting more postseason games that matter which is great. As a fan of the sport in general, I just hate how it played out since the CFP started almost a decade ago and how it ultimately became "natty or bust" for the players, media, and fans.

The irony of this statement considering you have been watching football since the 90's

Yea right. :ROFLMAO: FSU was getting spanked by a RS freshman QB and 2nd 3rd stringers the entire 2nd half. What was FSU playing? 8th stringers?

Yea I was arguing with some posters here after FSU got snubbed by the CFP. Some people like to have bleeding heart syndrome and wanted to console FSU for not making the cut. Not me. NFG.

Part of being a good team includes backups. Thats the whole definition of team not just the starters FFS. Look what happened when Colt got hurt vs Bama. "Ifs and buts", so yea excuses.

I have thought FSU has been overrated ever since they beat LSU at the start of the season. FSU is a good team vs the likes of Syracuse and VTs. Their other top 25 wins? Louisville and Clemson. Dont even get me started on Lousiville. That was the worst football game I have ever watched. FSU vs Lousiville, was like watching 2 monkeys f*cking a football. I could feel my soul and life being drained with each passing minute.

So yea I absolutely think FSU would lose to the top teams in the SEC. The holdouts wouldn't have mattered much. Maybe 20-30 points in which case it still would have been an embarassing loss. Hell Georgia beat them 21-0 in the second half with a freshman QB and backups. I was waiting crouched in the tall grass for someone to make that excuse. It is just as you say silly after watching the past 3 FSU games to think they had much of a shot at winning.

As for the bowl system, yea its terrible but outside the expanded playoff team what would you rather have? AP annoited Champions? No thanks. Money is slowly ruining this game. NIL, Free Agency, NFL, super conference consolidation, etc. I agree there but it is what it is.

Edit: PS you must take me serious at all times, I insist upon it. I will be offended otherwise. I identify as an Omnipotent College Football Forum Poster. Hell I am considering adding "OCFFP certified" to my email signatures.

There it is official

I stopped watching pro sports long ago. The money and political nature ruined it for me. Free Agency had a lot to do with it. Losing franchise players changed teams so much it ruined any type fan loyalty. Well at least for me it did.

Fans loved their team whereas players love the contract. Not really blaming the players but there is a dissociation aspect to it all.

Nah brother the sigh wasnt meant to be disrespectful to you but more to whole FSU "deserves" to be in the CFP

Yea I get the conference thing, some people care about that stuff. I dont unless its the hapless ags losing to okie lite.

I am talking more in terms of the best teams overall. The ones going to the CFP or teams that should be in. Any of the teams in the CFP would destroy FSU. So I am grateful they didnt get in. It would have been a wasted spot.
I like bringing up the conference records to those that are on the "$ec is the best conference" bandwagon and in your example, aggy who drives the damn wagon! True, the $ec might have the best 1 and/or 2 teams at the top but the rest of the conference is sometimes middle of the road.

This year I rooted for the Big XII (minus ou) in bowl games because I wanted Texas (who is still in the Big XII) to be the best of the best. The Big XII is now 3-1 vs the $ec this year with all of those games being on the $ec's home field or as in aggy's case, their home state only 100 miles from collie station. I find it funny how they love to suck on Bama or Georgia's tit, and I love calling them out on it.

Yup and he would like nothing better than to give Michigan and CFB the one finger salute goodbye with a Natty under his arm

I'm sure he would, but it's a personal distraction, and a distraction to the team.
