Hermann needs to go

Nothing against you SHA but that's ridiculous. Texas is just bidding against itself at that point. I'd rather UT hire a staff of nothing but NFL assistants and present itself as the collegiate version of IMG Academy.
I think if he didnt want to come, he would have squelched it by now.  I think UM wants to get the band back together and bring his grandkids down to Texas.  Urban has had a core group of people that he relied on at UF and Ohio st and I think he wants to get them in the package regardless of cost - IF and big IF they want to move from Ohio.  Getting these guys as support staff is above and beyond a regular coaching staff and could cost considerably more than they are making now.

Mark Pantoni; Director of Recruitingn (priority)
Mickey Marotti: S&C coach (not a must have) & probably son Mitch Marotti who is Operations & Video Assistant... if Mickey comes
Brian Voltolini: associate athletic director/general manager, football operations; worked with Meyer for 18yrs going back to Bowling Green

Corey Dennis: senior quality control coach; previously worked primarily with the Buckeye receivers; currently married to Urban's daughter... so getting him here means bringing the grandsons and, apparently, Urban wants to be around his immediate family.

Others that might be of interest...

Dan Enos: RB coach and was on Saban's staff recently. I would want to keep Drayton if only to keep Bijan
Greg Gillum: was Chief of Staff at Ohio st
Ryan Stamper: Assistant Athletic Director, Player Development. He was a two-time team captain for Urban Meyer at Florida

Best money I spend is for IT.. Those guys are nails.
they have been the best for almost 20 yrs. I left OB as a paying member to join Scout when the Longhorn site was InsideTexas (before it was named HornsDigest). Apparently, thinskinned Nahlin is co-owner now so we'll have to see if he can keep the integrity the previous owners built up

I screwed this up and was corrected on the ohio st board: Corey Dennis is the son-in-law... so his name would move up to the top three (now top 4)

Kate may have to drop her top for this one. lol

I posted this on the new pinned thread, but Urban Meyer has asked for "complete control" in the ability to hire and fire assistant AD for football, all support staff, training, all coaching staff with minimum 3 yr guaranteed contracts, etc.

A friend has told me its a done deal. Another just says we're very close.

We have an Assistant AD for Football? I thought most D1 HC's have "complete control" of football staffing and personnel.

Just made it home from my round and this is what i like to read.  Seal the deal CDC.

Yes, we do. He assists the AD, specifically for football. he he

Nope on the second item. Not many get to name the liaison to their boss.

Very few care about training staffs, nutrition, etc.

But again, there's nothing unreasonable there considering it's Urban Meyer who has done this a time or two.

yeah, this could be about bringing in Voltolini.  Somebody Urban is comfortable with and CDC can concentrate on all the other sports.  The one sport that finances all the others (except MBB and baseball) is worth having a go-between guy, and for clarification purposes: I dont mean Plonsky.   haha
