Viruses mutate through both antigenic drift and antigenic shift. The changes in the surface proteins can change whether or not an antibody is viable.Did you see the report (apologies if already mentioned) that said CDC now thinks the virus has mutated enough that masks are no longer effective. They said hand sanitizer is no longer effective, too.
Went on to say that the vaccine for the Wuhan will have to change from year to year to keep up with the mutations. The same as we have been doing for years with the Flu.
My point is there has not been ONE clinical study that proves conclusively that masks (especially the non N95 masks) stop the spread of any virus.
