Coaching Changes, Rumors, Misc.

Watching Clemson/Virginia, you wonder when BV gets another shot as a head coach. Brady at LSU. There are quite a few coordinators that would get the call over GH at a large P5 school.

How do we feel about Chad Morris? He uses Tight ends

I like Morris for a couple of reasons. He has had success calling plays at more than one location, and he has head coaching experience which I believe would add to the overall maturity of the staff. Not to say he would be better than GH, just a couple of reasons I believe he could do really good things at Texas.

I’d also add he’s a really good recruiter with ties all over the state. He’s my #1. Plus he uses the TE.

I don't know why he would. It's not a matter of whether Helton gets fired. Its a matter of when. He's a dead man walking. His fans hate him. Alumni hate him. It's an ugly, ugly situation there.

I think GH is simply giving everything due consideration. I think he'll have an answer for CTH by tomorrow.
What if he takes the Texas OC job and is then hired by the Arizona Cardinals??

Not going to happen with GH. Kingsbury had several years as a HC before the NFL came calling. GH hasn't had his first HC job yet.

By contrast, Chad Morris would spend every minute at UT as a potential candidate for a lot of jobs. So I don't like the choice.

Morris would be my plan J or K.

Here's another one from the Arkansas staff . . . would you get excited over John Chavis as DC?

No way on Chavis for me

Sir, you might have a point about Morris. Although I believe it would be at least a couple of years of success as an OC to rekindle a desire for him as a head coach. At least at a power 5.

HELL NO, he is bad bad. I’d rather have Orlando

Hopefully its not another Watson fiasco where the rumors were flying about a "game changing" hire that ended up being like showing up to a blind date to find out your buddy set you up with Rosie O'donnell. ?

Herman and Hand were at the Duncanville - Southlake Carroll game earlier today.

I prefer Graham Harrell and hope their no more interviews for offensive coordinators. The people who like Chris Ash should like Chad Morris. Both won a National Championship as offensive coordinators and failed as head coach.

Morris turned former Baylor transfer G.J. Kinne into a star at Tulsa, then mentored Deshaun Watson into a future first-round draft pick and Pro Bowler at Clemson. He would only get one year with Sam Ehlinger, but one would have to think he could have a positive effect on the Westlake product's game.

Wasn’t Kinne only a Texas transfer?  Maybe I am forgetting his route to Tulsa.

Not saying he would be my first choice but why so against Morris? Just curious.
