When I was coaching at Cooper we played Midland High at Midland. The THSBC poll had come out that day and had them at 3 in the state. They were pretty good, had a couple of kids that ended up in the show. We beat them 9-1 and former longhorn Scotty Pugh was our Head Coachand had the quote of that year "Well boys, I think we just took those ballots, wadded them up and used them to wipe our asses."

I believe Scott Pugh is the Longhorn who hit a home run that hit the tin roof of the building behind the left field wall during a home game. I forget what year it was or who it was against but it was a monster shot that went into the tree, then we all heard the "clunk".

I'm guessing it was Bryant, Pugh is left handed

The one I saw for sure went into the trees & hit the roof. I'm pretty sure it was Bryant and it may have been against Miami, but I'm not sure about that part.
