Calling OU-Tenn

Saying it right now. Tennessee will beat OU by at least 21 and will start the end of the Bob Stoops era. The Vols are one of the up and coming teams that improved by leaps and bounds as the season went on last year. The Sooners have to go to Rocky Top, where the home crowd is loud and proud.

This is a pivotal game for OU. Win and suddenly there's nothing really wrong in Soonerland. Lose, and it's more of the same decline they've been suffering. There's no proven answer at QB, it's an early season game, and Tennessee returns 21 starters.

Bob Stoops will not be the head coach after this season and Tennessee will start the ball rolling. Texas will get to drive some of that nail in the coffin as well a couple weeks later.

I watched Tenn. a couple of times last year.  They were improved and if they have 21 returning players, watch out.  Without a proven QB going into Knoxville the sooners will have their hands full in a loud & hostile environment.

I agree the Vols will win but I think it will be by 7 points or so. 

The only bad thing about watching any Tenn. game is having to listen to Rocky Top over and over and over again.  The only thing worse in college football is... you know what.

You may be 100% correct in your predictions, however I have some problems with some of your predictions at this point. I remember last year South Carolina was ranked 7th in the country going into the season when they lost 52-28 to the aggies.

Tennessee is going to the season rated 14th in the country, however seven out of the top 14 are SEC teams, so they may be overrated from being in the SEC. You say OU doesn't have a proven answer at QB which is true, however they do have Lincoln Riley who has a great reputation as a future coaching star. Riley had the interest of Charlie Strong when he was hiring his staff at Texas.

I'm not as confidant that Texas will be OU this season since at this point we have no proven answer at QB, the same as OU.

I'm not sure about 21 points but I think Tennessee wins. 

1-OU lost almost their entire offensive line. 

2-OU has QB issues. 

3-The Vols might have the best QB in the SEC in Dobbs. He's going to pick that secondary apart.

If a junior, with less than a full season of starts in his career, is the league's best QB, that says more about the SEC than UTenn. Dobbs isn't as big of a question mark at the Sooners have, but he's also long on potential, short on experience.

He's fun to watch though! I'm hoping he duplicates his bowl game performance against OU.

How did Dobbs become a question mark? Whats the question? 

I could only wish we had a QB who went 4-2 with a bowl victory and 15 touchdown passes (500 yds rushing) in only six games.

You sound like a Texas homer which is okay by me except we lost the game. When you give up 14 points by an interception return for a TD and a KO return for a TD that's  all it takes when you lose by 5. My standards are that UT didn't stomp anyone that they ended up on the short end on the scoreboard.

I agree and scoreboard is the final say.

But OU fans left that stadium like they had been beat. All we needed was a QB that day.

OU's football schedule. I can absolutely see 6-6. 

They have to go on the road against Tennessee, Kansas State, Oklahoma State and Baylor. Texas on a neutral field. TCU at home. I see 5 losses out of those 6 games.

They'll try to make up for the QB woes by running the football, which is their bread-n-butter normally. They rediscovered this last year.

But like you said, with OL issues as they have, the running game may see some injuries as a result. OU does have abundant TB depth though.

They like their secondary. I don't. They see a lot of talent at WR. I don't. Stoops may well be on his way out as sooner fans are growing disenchanted with their middle of the pack ways.
