2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

Kai just did a Cecil Cherry and stopped some bad momentum in its tracks.

Charles O is happy (and Lampkin)

Boyd still trolling Aggys.

If Mack goes to aggy, something happened and very recently. I promise you.
It also happened with RSJ, Isiah Golden and Zaycoven Henderson. Let it go. Sumlin's ability to win championships and to prepare players for the NFL is becoming better known every season. I wish Mack the best of luck. He's going to need it.

Any offensive players worried about the QB should be happy now. They were all working Kai pretty hard at the OV. Let's hooe SoSo will still come through for Texas.

I've given Kyler Murray some thought. If he redshirts and doesn't play baseball, does he have to wait 3 years to play pro baseball? I don't think so. Why? Adam Dunn did not, if you recall.

The more I think about it, the more I think that Kyler reaffirmed his commitment to A&M because Kevin really respects Strong, wanted to let Kyler make his own decision, and they decided that Kyler would almost certainly never play a down of college football.

I am thrilled with the Locksley commit.

Hook 'em, Kai! Welcome to the 40.

Here is an IT write-up on Kai  http://insidetexas.com/locksleys-longhorn/

How he fits at Texas: Locksley is the best QB I’ve personally seen in the 2015 class. He’s long, like VY, and he can take choppy steps and then use long strides to suddenly cover big stretches of grass and pull away from people. VY did this as well, calling it the “Texas 2-step.â€Unlike VY, Locksley has a fantastic release and throwing motion. He has a great deep ball as well as the ability to throw on the run. If Watson wanted to evolve his multiple West Coast system to include the QB run game, as we all hope he does, there’d be no better prospect to take than Locksley. – IB

Coach says: I like this kid a lot, only a plus that he is a coach’s son. I think he is going to be stud wherever he goes. Has great ball placement, puts it only where his receivers can catch it. Has good arm strength and I don’t see any glaring mechanical flaws. Very comfortable throwing the ball on the run and makes it look easy at times. He is a true dual threat, reminds me of Terrelle Pryor (refusing to make the Vince Young comparison) when he runs it, tall with long strides which eats up yards in a hurry. Displays a great burst and is very elusive in open field. This kid is going to be a star wherever he endsup; there is so much to love about his game. I can see this kid blowing up the college football world in 2-3 years. Him and Kyler Murray are 1A and 1B for me right now.

How it affects Texas: A larger version of Texas signee Jerrod Heard, the more I watch of Locksley, the more I like. His dad is the OC at Maryland, so it’s in his blood. Strong and UT jumped into his recruiting a little late but have definitely made an impression on the athletic signal-caller. He’s got a high football IQ in a world class athlete body. He wants to play QB and some lucky college program will let him.  â€“ JW

Well that was an exceedingly glowing write-up.  I hadn't seen that before - clearly they're fans.  Very excited to get Kai - really think the kid has a ton of potential - glad I'm not the only one.

What yall worried about... the party just got started... have you noticed every time the momentum start trending down... Charlie throws a #letsride down...
I agree.....but when did we ever trend down at all (This recruiting season)? We are 1 of the biggest Recruiting stories/Surprises period

IMO highly successful athletics in the FWISD - especially football in modern times, has not been a focus or emphasis all the way from the top to the individual high schools.  I don't want to make this a critical piece but there are many things lacking.

There is some talent in FWISD, but sadly there are not many kids recruited out of these schools by D-1 programs.

Just my .02.
Having officiated FWISD games, I can tell you this...it's depressing.

No crowds, small bands, and a very JV-like atmosphere. FWISD schools generally have good athletes at the skill positions, but poor blocking & tackling, and inadequate coaching. As soon as a good coach makes a name for himself, like Ged Kates at Arlington Heights, he leaves for a better, higher-paying job in the suburbs.
