McGuire doesn't want his hire to influence Lodge. Gives the look of impropriety. 

I would tend to dis-believe this, IMO.  The rumor that is.

In this day of the internet, it is almost impossible to keep something secret.  McGuire to UT is BIG news, regardless of Lodge.  And, whether it is announced before or after NSD, if Lodge came to UT, the accusation will still occur.  Especially by aggys.

If the rumor does happen to be true, it basically is saying that Lodge is coming to UT.  If we know he is NOT coming to UT, then it doesn't matter what day we hire him.

Why is there a guy picking Miami and another loner picking Auburn for Mack?

Just a couple of thoughts on this:

   I find this to be a funny statement " He's waiting to announce the hire so it doesn't influence Lodge's decision."  IMO, that is an admirable decision to let the kid make up his mind based on program, university, development (on/off the field), etc (As Doc spoke of).  However, I thinks it's somewhat wishful thinking.  In society today, there is no way of keeping that situation completely quiet.  Obviously, the possibility or even probability this is going to happen has been exposed to social media.  So if he is going to take the job, he may be 'waiting' until after NSD to make it official, but I'm confident that Lodge already knows one way or the other which way his former coach is leaning.

J.B. - I am not a CB expert but I can try to answer your questions:

- The guy that picked Mack to Miami did so approximately year and half ago (July, 2013) and 100% of his predictions are for Miami so he is just a homer trying to get publicity for his favorite school Miami IMO

- The guy that picked Mack to Auburn is a writer for Auburn and is also heavily slanted towards Auburn in a lot of his picks ... his Auburn vote needs to be discounted for 2 reasons -- he is biased and only correct 57 percent of the time .... also, he made his vote for Mack a year ago (Feb, 2014)

In fairness, none of those guys are TCU guys. They're just the guys who apparently guess correctly the most on players who ultimately commit to TCU. Perroni is an A&M guy. So it's understandable why he has Mack pinned for A&M. Walker founded Varsity Preps, knows his stuff. Dixon is an LSU guy. Smith is a Vanderbilt guy. And Warren is another Varsity Preps guy.

Because people make their picks and then for whatever reason, don't go back and change them. The Miami prediction is from mid 2013 and the Auburn prediction is from February 2014. They're simply outdated.
