2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

I think McNeal was the starting pitcher

- Malik J hit a 1st inning Grand Slam on Dec 19

- Murray was the solid middle relief

- Strong and Co. were the late inning set-up men

- Malik J came in to close the deal and get the Save  !!
Actually, what I was told and have been sitting on is that papa murray placed a phone call to DM during the visit to Austin. Same man was responsible for Lodge making the trip. Kyler will get the credit but thats how I was told it went down.

I will say, without MJ committing on Dec. 19, I'm not sure the Mack thing gets to this point. I think that opened up some eyes, particularly the idea that "coaching matters."

Additionally, I think aggy did their part here. The perception of a lack of discipline, a visit where Mack saw players that were indifferent after a loss, a defense that gave up 59 in a shut out, . . . without all that, Mack may not have felt reason to look around.

well that will make alot of sense yep yep

Here is QB Matthew Merrick doing QB drills

Once I saw his HUDL video I was sold. He can learn and develop, is way ahead of most.

If he has the attitude of Young, Colt, Applewhite, Street... nerves of steel and relentless will to win... no fear, no hesitation, and chocked full of preparation... there you go. He's learned well under Kevin Murray.

AMEN .... aggies struck out in the 9th inning

... will the aggies ever forgive Murray for this ?? ... yea, they are always in denial  B)

Higs says Murray will deserve some of the credit once we land Mack
Pre-xactly. Aggie will have to live forever with the fact Kyler's visit to Austin was a game-changer with lasting benefits and leverage that can never be recovered from. The scales tipped dramatically in a January in which (read Kirk Bohl's column today)... in which the tactics and styles of recruiting is light years from that of Mack Brown.

From now on, from late Dec into all of January... game on!! In state and out of state. Right up to NSD (or the 2-day dead period).

lol you think they gonna forgive km for this lol?

We've sent out more than that.

All the recruits we have on board get that sent to them to fax back. And recruits we think we have a shot at on NSD get one, too, which would include that list plus more.
I hope they still sent one to Kyler. Maybe a last second change of heart. ;)

To understand the significance of landing Daylon Mack, try to think back to a more coveted DT recruit in Texas. Name them. Tommie Harris? Malcom Brown? Isaiah Golden?

Harris was rated in great part on potential. He had tools and potential. It wasn't really translated to the field at OU. He went from blue chip to ordinary.

Malcom Brown is a success story. And his skills were noticeable at the HS level. However, his ceiling was lower than that of Mack.

Isaiah Golden – aggy happened. Career over.

Daylon Mack has RB-caliber skills in a 300+ lb body. He almost single-handily willed his team to victory over eventual state champion Gilmer playing a position he's really not built for. He even kicked. Some would argue that the state championship game was played that evening between G'water and Gilmer. No one else played Gilmer that close the rest of the way.

You did get a snapshot of what he's capable of during the all-star game. He was the one receiving his mail in the offensive backfield. This was against the best of the best OL. He used them. Toyed with them. If that were a regular season game, he would have made all-state with that game.

Everything is already there. When you talk potential about this kid, you're way ahead in the conversation that you were when you talked about past DT recruits. He'll make our DL special, feared, dominant, fast, and did I mention feared?

IMO, he's way more crucial to this class than Murray ever was.
