2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

Chip on HD is saying there is truth behind Cedar Hills HC being offered a job. Says he has until Friday to make a choice but from the sounds of he is leaning Texas.

Doc, somebody said Kyler wasn't much of a fan until JFF started doing his thing. Don't know if there is any truth behind that, just what I heard or read somewhere

tOSU people think Carlton Davis flipping to Auburn may happen
Davis is the guy Auburn wants

And Auburn247 claims Redwine's coach says Redwine to Auburn

That should rap it up for them, if so.

I'll give you my reasons for thinking this.

1.  He has been an aggy fan since he was a baby.

2.  He has been anti Texas since he was a baby

3.  His dad has played and pulled for TAMU since Kyle can remember

4.  He has dreamed of playing for aggy since he could remember

5.  He has been a long time commit to aggy

6.  He has MANY pals and buddies that came to aggy because of him

7.  He is loaded with TAMU swag since he was a kid

He has been an aggy for life and all of a sudden he is checking UT out?  Unless his dad and Sumlin got into a fistfight, I don't think he just started hating TAMU.  And, even if his dad and Sumlin DID, fight - the kid is an indoctrinated aggie since birth.

It's hard for me to believe he will, all of a sudden, start coveting the aggies hated enemy.

THIS doesn't make any sense to me.

Now, all this being said, I hope to God he pledges UT - not only to get him, but to get his entourage as well.

.
not all just aggie.  his uncle calvin murray played baseball for UT.  so there must have been some interesting thanksgivings.

you have no idea on #2, 4, 6 or 7. that's conjecture.

and yes, he DID check UT out. with his dad. who has known CS for 30 years. that's fact not conjecture.

even aggy mods concede it's a dogfight. the only one who thinks it's a done deal for aggy is you.

you seem to be trying too hard to be 'contrarian guy' doc. just let it play out.

Kevin Murray is a professional QB coach. He does it for a living. He's coaching our current greyshirt. So Kevin Murray already has one QB in the UT fold, so far.

Kevin Murray has sent a total of four QBs to Kevin Sumlin, including recently Kenny Hill. All four have or are transferring. Kevin doesn't want issues for his son there.

Sumlin, so far, has had success by letting a 5'9 wild child make plays with his feet behind an NFL-caliber OL and with some tall, lengthy talent at WR. Since that has been removed, nothing demonstrates that Sumlin can develop anything.

Add to that the issue with having to outscore everyone you play, every game. No defense to speak of. Pressure constantly on the offense to respond. Kevin Murray doesn't believe in this.

This isn't sudden. It's been building for some time.
This is exactly what I mean when I talk about 'the relationship' CS has built with both Kyler and the rest of the Murrays.

Also, don't discount the baseball aspect of this recruitment. Playing baseball at Texas would be a much bigger opportunity than aggy.

Hopefully we can start off the final push with Boyd and Hill. I've had moments when I've wavered on Boyd. Hopefully, I can say that his trolling even had me fooled. Those 2 and Davis would be huge.

Big difference between Merrick and his own son.

Kevin Murray has sent a total of four QBs to Kevin Sumlin, including recently Kenny Hill. All four have or are transferring. Kevin doesn't want issues for his son there.

All had compelling reasons for leaving - none had to do with Sumlin.

Sumlin, so far, has had success by letting a 5'9 wild child make plays with his feet behind an NFL-caliber OL and with some tall, lengthy talent at WR. Since that has been removed, nothing demonstrates that Sumlin can develop anything.

This argument has nothing to do with Kyles love of TAMU

I agree with this

Yes, going to UT last week was, most definitely, all of a sudden and out of the wild blue.  This cannot be denied.  In spite of the fact that mods from different site "claim" to have known this, I call BS on that.  They are just scrambling for credibility.  I believe no one knew diddly and the sites were as blindsided as we were.
SHL, I understand there are many arguments why you and I think he would consider UT.  I don't like being put into a position to refute them, because I want the pro - UT arguments to hold sway.

But we wouldn't even be talking about this had last week not happened - right?  Weren't you convinced Murray was a LOCK to aggy?

I just hate to see everyones hopes get up, only to be disappointed.

Very well said, I think you are telling your behind the scenes story a little with that amazing rebuttal. If you are right and after you tell us this story after NSD I'm buying you a beer SHA next time I'm in Austin.

Anybody know if we tried selling Locksley on the idea of playing WR as well? This tweet makes it clear that he doesn't want to entertain that at all. I asked the question because if we are selling that 'angle' in the event KM comes on board, it would definitely hurt our chances.

Locksley isn't afraid of the competition with other big QB recruits. He would have that here or FSU.

Doc

We may wind up being disappointed but your statement that this was a sudden event is incorrect. SHA told us weeks ago that Murray was talking to our coaches about playing both football and baseball at Texas. It is in this thread. Sometime in early to mid December.

Please where did you come up with that? I just read Kyler liked UT as a kid until we became a mediocre joke. This is business and about Kyler choosing the best school for his football and baseball career. You may be correct and he ends up at aggie land, but at this time I would be surprised. The good thing is we will know in a week.

Since you came up with a list, I thought I would do the same on why he'll come to Texas.

1. Johnny's training to be a NFL QB

2. Teddy Bridgewater's training to be a NFL QB

3. A&M's arrest record

4. He has pals and buddies at UT

5. Malik's able to give him a first hand account about being at UT which seems to be positive

6. Going against his father at this time on playing for a coach who his father doesn't think is very good.

7. Kyler has not been pro aggie and anti longhorn since he was a baby

8. Better baseball team at UT

This isn't a new thing. It's new because they let it out last week. This has been going on for AT LEAST a month.

I'd just like to say not trying to beat up on you! I completely respect your opinion. I hope you're wrong as I think you do, too! Hookem!

Who are the QBs Kevin Murray has sent to Sumlin?

Who are some of the QBs KM has tutored?

Do the jerseys numbers have any significance?

1 through 7?

We are saying QB all the way.
