2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

CB Deandre Baker speaks  -- "everything was good" at Texas.  I liked it a lot....... "It's pretty close between Texas and Georgia.  I'm still a Georgia commit."

He will decide on NSD  --  Georgia v. Texas.

"Everything is bigger in Texas.  We ate lunch, toured the Law school, had dinner and I hung out with the players."   He was hosted by Jermaine Roberts
Saturday, Baker yook the academic tour, went to the Texas basketball game, rested at the hotel and ate dinner before again hanging out with the players.

Baker met with Longhorns coach Charlie Strong in his office this afternoon before departing -- "Coach (Strong) told me how I could help them and how I could help the team if I came there."

Baker said he expects Georgia and Texas to come by his home this week. He said both could possibly be by Wednesday but he's not sure of the date at this point.

Anyone else think Murray could pull a fast one and schedule an official visit this next weekend to Texas?

if we go spread, who would be best then?

Soso?  then Brossette?

If I had a magic wand (that worked), I would go Soso and Warren.  I think Warren is so good, he will adjust to whatever.  He just might be devastating in college.

But I wont cry if its Soso and Brossette either

Seems like we are having one of those "good problem to have" things going on now
I really want us to get Warren.

That's funny, come here and get poor coaching. However, you'll be able to play against future NFL players.
Kid doesn't know it yet but this is going viral. I would be surprised if Sumlin likes that at all because it REALLY makes him look bad lol. Probably going to get the Pool Boy treatment now.

Kai Locksley --  Locksley was hosted by Malik Jefferson. Locksley stated that his conversations with Jefferson were extremely positive.

An unexpected source of encouragement was from several uncommitted prospects that expressed their interest in the four-star switching his commitment to Texas.
--  "They basically came to me and they were saying we need a quarterback.  They were saying Texas needs a quarterback, what are your plans?  What are you trying to do?"
--  Locksley didn't shy away from asking the same question in return.  "I said the same thing; what are y'all trying to do?   It was just one of those things where I think a lot of people might get on board with Texas now."

With many of the top recruits in this recruiting class… one intangible that I sense is… Leadership.

Seems like this was one thing that Charlie kept harping on throughout this past season.

When are some of the players going to step up… and take ownership of the team?

A few tried… but there were just too few leaders… and even fewer playmakers.

I believe this is one thing that distinguishes a championship team… leaders who are playmakers.

I wager that will not be a problem with this recruiting class.

How about Brossette, Soso, Hill, Boyd and Lokcsley announce before NSD.

And then the biggest name go on NSD -- for the showy aspect -- Murray, Mack, Murray and maybe Lodge

And Charlie will know all ahead of time.
I don't think Charlies is going to be surprised.  He doesnt strike me as the type to go in to NSD without a lot of uncertainity on signings.

Another thing, reading the comments from recruits and parents, it is obvious that they have alot of respect for Strong.  Therefore, I believe they would let Strong know ahead of time if they were not coming.  I don't see Charlie getting embarrassed on NSD.

Locksley refresher course

Having just watched this and compared it to Heard's Senior HUDL tape, I like them both a lot.  Locksley is a more polished passer at the same age and is able to just "flick it" with a wrist snap down the field effortlessly while still being able to put touch on a RB screen.  A lot for Watson to work with there to polish over the next few years.  He can run the read option well but he is not a burner.  Maybe a bit faster than Swoopes but he won't out run defenses at the next level.  That said, he can definitely make the right read and run it himself to pick up an easy 3-6 yards a carry.

Heard is a far better runner and an absolute true threat int he run game that a defense has to respect.  He is much more raw as a passer with a long wind up to launch it down the field.  With RS year under his belt going into the spring, he should be much more polished than he was coming out of high school now.  I fully expect him to take over the lead spot this spring running more of a tOSU style offense.

Locklsey and Murray will have their work cut out for them if they get here in June trying to unseat Heard.  Of course if Heard has not progressed on his passing game/reads as quickly as he should over the spring then any of the three of them can lead this offense.

aggy Lockhart on Hill & Boyd -- “

Kris - he and Holton Hill - I think they’re going to go to school together. I think they're a package deal.  I think that’s what they want to do. We were really working on both of those guys this weekend. It’s going to come down to us and Texas for them but they both liked it a ton this weekend. We feel pretty good but you never know what’s going to happen. I really think we have a really good shot at getting both of them, to be honest.â€
