2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

On the QB rumor --

A poster on 247, who claims he knows the family, says it is NOT Brewer.

Do we know this poster?  Possibly

Gilbert Johnson looks like a monster out there. Reminds me of former Lions receiver Herman Moore. Love how he snatches the ball with his hands and doesn't let it get into his body.

ESPN piece on the recent commits http://espn.go.com/college-sports/recruiting/football/story/_/id/12115606/michael-irvin-nephew-commits-texas-longhorns

"We're going to take over Texas," Clarington said. "What (Strong) did at Louisville is exactly what he's going to do at Texas. That's all I've got to say."
Michael Irvin, who played collegiately at Miami, was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2007.

His nephew, who will enroll early Jan. 12, decided on Texas over Auburn and Miami. He plans to play nickel and return kicks for the Longhorns.

"I figured it out this morning after talking to my parents when we were coming into the stadium," Irvin said. "Texas is going to be the right spot for me."

The Miami Boards are pretty unhappy about Irvin, given the bloodlines and all.

Some calling for coach's head over this even.

I have a feeling there will be some amazing surprises in store between a new qb, Mack, coaching changes, aggy tears, and the more. Best part of the year is coming up.

Odds we oversign?

Better than 50%?

Dont SEC teams do this alot?

If we over sign its because there are a few grade risks in the class or we expect a bunch of transfers I guess. Whatever Charlie is doing, it has to be better than what Mack did the last few years. Mack's recruiting has to be the greatest Cluster %^#& in the history of CFB.

My odds are on Braxton Miller.  He's the only game changer I can think of.

Meyer suggests Texas because of his relationship with Strong. Strong's a great coach and even better person for Braxton to continue his football exploits.

wowww juan i was reading some of the info on the miami boards my goodnesss they are at war over this one..

I say there is a 75 percent chance we over sign. I have no idea what the repercussions are for over signing. Can anyone weigh in on this.

Folks, we land yet another commit to our list tomorrow at 3 p.m.

Prepare to welcome aboard Mr. Gilbert Johnson, a huge pick up for us offensively and another 4-star player.

He's been committed for several weeks, but we get to see it official tomorrow. The Florida Five is complete.
Tim Irvin confirmed this to me yesterday (that Johnson told him he would be committing to Texas). I'll have more on my conversation with him later but Johnson will complete the 5.
These guys are all really tight. As you can imagine they all talk every day.
