2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

- I've got a strange feeling that Newsome has been told his ship has sailed.

- I think Burt decommits this coming week.
That may not be a bad deal.  In my opinion, kids out of programs like Aledo, South Lake, Lake Travis and others never become that superstar that is bestowed on them in high school.

Those type schools just reload really good athletes in a system where they excel.

OK, if its down to Braxton Miller v. Connor Brwer, then it has to be Miller.

Brewer, while "amusing" doesnt qualify as a player who "would be a very compelling player that was heavily recruited."
Brewer was "compelling" when he was being recruited but I wouldn't describe him as that now.

Does Brewer really "change the course of a season"?  I agree on the "amusing part" because there would be some SMH.

Is this really a Strong type guy!  LOL

Starting to make sense and be consistent with what Higdon's been sticking to --

Burt to Auburn
Brossette sticks with LSU
Richmond sticks with Ole Miss (or goes Tenn)
Fields to Clemson
Newsome to Tenn or UCLA

We take Johnson, Warren, Hill, Boyd + 2 (Mack and a QB)

Unless, of course, we go over, which seems possible - Charlie does seem to have a plan
(I was thinking we might intentionally go over due to some grade risks, but report today was that Clarington looks good on grades which only leaves one guy I know of)

So first 2 of 3 from Fields, Boyd and Hill? Assuming we get two.

My theory has been Kris Boyd changing his mind on a commitment date, dragging it out to involve more teams is what lead to the reversal in Fields taking his OV here this month (at first he was, then he wasn't, now he is again).  I think Strong & Co responded with Fields.  Maybe that was a message to Boyd or maybe it wasn't.

Fields is a very good player, actually ranked slightly ahead of both Hill and Boyd at CB nationally.  Plus he is a good kid and someone we know well due to a long relationship.

So, if Boyd is still dangling by the time Fields visits, the possibility is there that Fields could take his spot.  It would be a risky move by us, because of the chance it might affect our relationship with his brother 2016 Demarco who is extremely solid Texas at this point.  However, if we tell him up front and give him notice then its on him at that point.  Fair is fair.

This theory is counter to what alot of folks think - i..e., that Boyd is in the bag for us.

We will see.  Should be interesting.  Space is running out.

And keep in mind we are fretting over which 4-star CBs we will end up with.

We have come a long way since November

I personally don't think Strong gives a crap what Hill and Boyd think. Fields is arguably the best cornerback in the country. If Fields is ready to commit to Texas, Strong isn't going to wait for Hill and Boyd. Fields would be the biggest get of this entire class (and yes that includes Malik and Mack). I have no doubt Fields is going to be a beast on the next level.
