Off topic but there really isnt a thread for this

If you were wondering where the real Ced Reed was this season, turns out he was playing with a knee injury (torn meniscus)

Is going to have surgery

Charlie Strong and the Texas Longhorns coaching staff are putting together a monumental class for 2015.

And it just got a lot better on Saturday when four-star tight end Devonaire Clarington (Miami, Fla./Booker T. Washington) announced his commitment to the Longhorns at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Clarington (6-foot-6 and 220-pounds) held offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, and Georgia to name a few.

Clarington has great quickness off the line, size and strength. He is a bit raw and needs to work on route running. He has tons of upside and will be a deadly weapon in Austin over the coming years.

The addition of Clarington gives the Longhorns the tight end threat they desperately need. He will need to make the adjustment from a speed point of view at the next level but has wide receiver skills with a tight end frame.

The Longhorns continue their rise through the recruiting rankings. How far will they ultimately climb? National Signing Day is about a month away.

Scout.com Take:
Clarington has prototype size and athleticism and has been a force since he arrived in high school. At 6-foot-6, he should carry in the 260+ range down the road and is a mismatch both in the middle and down the field. He has Sunday potential. He flashes brilliance, but also has bouts of inconsistency and needs to improve his route running skills. Clarington has also lined up at DE and could have a future there as well.

Lots of film at the link^^^

Do you prefer him over Burt?
On talent alone, I prefer Johnson due to the height, which I see as a glaring weakness for us (plus I've grown tired of Burt's waffling act)

However, Johnson is not a slam dunk admission into UT so that makes me hedge.

Also, Strickland is almost as tall as Johnson, so he is another guy I hope we find room for.

Brossette has to be looking at what his fellow LSU RB Commit is doing and be giving serious consideration to playing elsewhere. He could be sitting for a while.

FWIW -- Higdon did call all of Malik Jefferson, Deandre McNeal, Anthony Wheeler and Devonaire Clarington to Texas.

I'm ecstatic with the direction our program is headed. If we can have as much success for the 2016 class I honestly believe we could talking about playoffs in 3 years from now. I'm surprised we haven't gotten any good leads about coaching replacements.

Daje is on roster next year right? I feel like we've heard so much about him the last few years that he finally graduated.  Senior in 2015?

We find ourselves in need of attrition and some creative accounting
