Joe Wickline went to Manvel to see 2016s -- WR Reggie Hemphill, S Deontay Anderson, LB Jordan Carmouche, OL Austin Myers and OL McKenzie Nworah.
Hemphill is committed and Anderson holds an offer.

Wickline also went to see 4-star 2016 OL Jean Delance of North Mesquite on Tuesday, a ou commit.  Delance said he was impressed with the improvement he has seen at Texas with Charlie Strong taking over the program. He saw Horns v. ou in person this season.

I still think Soso is a long shot. I do think we get Warren and have a 50/50 shot to get Brosette. ....

Here is what 247 says on that point --

Jamabo only recently started to reciprocate interest in the Horns.

The Longhorns could be in line for an official visit in January.

UCLA, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Baylor are also expected to be under consideration.

Burton later added "But until Jamabo visits, Texas has no more than a shooter's chance IMO. Jamabo is said to really like Art Briles. And I know Baylor is floating the idea of also playing basketball by him, too."

someone posted this somewhere else and i clicked on it.

This is exactly what you want from your MLB. Who cares about the size or speed just watch the first 2 minutes and you'll see what you want from a MLB. Hopefully he will get Strong/Bedford/BJM coaching soon. Maybe we can play him at fullback a few times too. Hope he commits to us on NSD & brings a few of his buddies.

Les was with them as well(Coach Koening.) I believe another UT coach joined them later as well.

Love it.  We need lots of OL recruits!

Total rumor-mongering, but OB is reporting Mack has been in contact with Coach Rumph about setting up a visit.

One take-away might be that if Mack is seriously considering a Texas visit then maybe Malik hasn't decided he's Aggie bound just yet.

That would not surprise me. Apparently, something has soured between aggy and Mack and Mack's been looking around at LSU and maybe now Texas.

It would tickle me to see us get Mack. You seldom see a DT athletic enough to play TB and be as successful as he was this year. I saw video of some of his running plays. He didn't look like a DT running the ball.

Rumph is the recruiter who got DT A'Shawn Robinson to switch from Texas back in 2013.

You can watch Charlie's eyes light up everytime he talked about the DL or LB's this year.   CS has mentioned so many times, on rewind, "the little guys can make plays but its the big guys up front which are going to win the game" (paraphrase).  They are the chosen ones under his regime.

I was a little surprised, that there wasn't more highly rated DL and LBs banging down the doors to play for Rumph and Strong.  If Wickline can fix the OL, like he had at OSU, we are going to be top 5 in a few years.

Insurance in case we swing and miss on Clark and Clarington?

Florida tight end commit Camrin Knight (Tallahassee, Fla./Lincoln) told Luke Stampini of 247Sports that he received an in-home visit from Texas assistant coach Chris Vaughn on Wednesday.A Lincoln prospect, Knight is teammates of current Texas receiver commit John Burt.

A 6-foot-4, 225-pound prospect, Knight is a three-star prospect and the No. 106-ranked prospect in Florida according to 247Sports Composite.

He committed to Florida in February.
This kid has some moves - and I like his blocking...

Charlie gets the morning, but looks like Sumlin will have the last in-home before the dead period.

Texas head coach Charlie Strong is set to have an in-home visit with five-star linebacker Malik Jefferson this morning. The in-home visit was set to occur before the dead period, obviously, but the exact date had not been nailed down until now. The biggest reason for this is the conflicting schedules of Jefferson’s parents’ work schedules and when the best time would be.

With Thursday morning looking to be the best opportunity for Strong to meet with Jefferson himself, the schedule was set with hopes that both parents could take part as well. If it is unable to happen exactly that way, look for Strong to make a point to visit with whoever is unable to attend on a separate occasion.

Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin is also set to visit with the Jeffersons today.

2017 DT Marvin Wilson (Bellaire Episcopal) - bigtime 2017 recruit as of today

Interview with IT (by Jake Faust who in an intern and who attends Bellaire Episcopal with Wilson)

IT: What schools have shown the most interest in you?
MW: Right now I have to say Texas, Texas A&M , TCU, and Maryland.

IT: Which coach at Texas has been in the closest contact with you?
MW: Coach Rumph has been checking on me here and there just to let me know that Texas likes me a lot.

IT: Could you see yourself at Texas one day?
MW: Yea, I really can especially under coach Rumph and Charlie Strong. They are just the type of guys you want to surround yourself around. They’re guys that strive to be great and want nothing short from a championship team.

IT: What’s your view on coach Strong?
MW: I like the way he is changing the culture of Texas and the culture of football he’s cleaning up shop, he genially cares about his players, not only as a athlete but a person.

IT: If you don’t mind me asking what is your early Top 5?
MW: Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, Maryland, and OU.
