2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

2015 OL Tyler Moore (Galena Park North Shore) sent this out Sunday after visiting Minnestoa

His Final 5 are us, Minn, Tech, Oregon St. and Colorado, but he called us his "dream school."

This issue for us, if there is one, is that we already have 6 OL commits in 2015.

The funniest thing is that aggies are getting hooked in by Hamm's fanboy posts over at 247. Even after Hamm's raving reviews of his visit, not a single crystal ball has gone in the favor of A&M. Heck, even after just a visit a couple recruiting analysts normally change their predictions. Not a single one in A&M's favor.

Malik Jefferson recruiting talk has really worn on me. Both fanbases see him more as a pawn for holding it over the school rather than a piece towards moving closer to making their team better. It is obvious he sees alot of things to like in both schools and seems torn. Realistically, A&M likely having to replace most of its defensive staff within 2 weeks and not likely having them in place by Malik's decision makes this one damn near impossible to win. He won't be the end all be all for success in the future though, we need to make the right hire(s) defensively regardless of how it affects the recruiting class.

This is a very logical approach. Matter of fact, it's what Hamm was saying a week ago. That's why I laugh when people overreact to someone like Hamm. He changes his narrative to get clicks (he's also a fanboy). Hamm went from saying a shift in the defensive staff will negatively impact Malik to now saying it will positively impact Malik........all within a week.

Hamm said Hagen was the game-changer moreso than Snyder. I'm assuming the "tough questions" that Sumlin had to answer involved firing/resignation of Snyder after the regular season. As much as Malik may like A&M, I can't see him picking the school if their isn't a plan in place to hire a DC immediately. Even so, relationships are a big deal and I doubt that a week or two would be enough for him to be comfortable with a new DC and possibly a position coach. We shall see though.

Hagen should be the first one gone. I can't believe the situation he's put you in at LB.

Folks, we have a big time recruit coming in for a visit (TCU game). It's the DeSoto QB Tristan Wallace. Quite an athlete.

Given he tweeted at Andrew King when announcing the visit, it seems as if he wants the news to get out to Longhorn fans. Maybe he'll be a quick commit?

JUCO OL Brandon Hodges (6'5, 295) of East Mississippi CC taking OV to Austin on Thanksgiving.

I think this visit was originally set for the WVU game

There is competition (including a late push by Alabama) but CB says us

Two other expected visitors for Thanksgiving are --

2016 RB Rakeem Boyd of Houston Stratford (in top 250 in 247 Natl Composite)

2016 ATH Christian Wallace of Katy Tompkins (#166 overall in 247 initial list & already has an offer- plays WR and S, will probably and up as a 4-star safety)

These are the comments of OB's Esoteric2112 on MJ--

"What he said I could share. Okay so A&M showed him a good time. He got to catch up with some guys and meet a few new ones. He was very impressed with their facilities (best part of the trip). He spent most of his time (except game time) with Sumlin which made him feel special. He didn't hang with Snyder very much. He said they have a lot of energy and have a good time during their warm ups and walk through. The campus was..... Nice. Their academic support wasn't as good as LSU. He said the feeling at the game was good in the first half (but not in the same universe as Texas/OU or LSU) but the crowd just disintegrated sometime in the 3rd quarter. He is very, very worried about how they looked on defense. Finally he was concerned that the Aggie players seemed not very troubled by losing. More accepting of it.

My takeaway is he loved their facilities. His relationship with Coach Sumlin is still very strong. But he has huge worries about the state and future of the defense. He is also troubled that the Aggies seem to be accepting of losses like this. It doesn't affect them.

He hasn't seen the Texas game yet. That is on the agenda for tomorrow if he can fit it in between film study.
omorrow if he can fit it in between film study.

I think LSU has made up ground at the expense of A&M. This was A&M's chance to lock him down and they couldn't do it.

The facilities and his relationship with Sumlin (and the fact that Sumlin is as good of a snake oil salesman you will find) are the main things keeping A&M in this thing. The tide has turned from the aftermath of the firing of Diaz.

Below are my thoughts culled together from talking to him, not direct quotes:

LSU has great academic support, a history of success, putting guys in the NFL, and great defense. But distance and the fact he has no relationship with Miles and finds him a little eccentric are the drawbacks. LSU also had a game day experience that was like sitting in an electric chair (I reminded him electric chairs are deadly).

A&M has the best facilities and Sumlin is like a best friend to him. Plus someone close in his life (but not family close) being a huge Aggie. Finally they were playing from the lead, got a bump with the Auburn win, and Sumlin is a hell of a salesman (selling come here, play early, bring a couple of friends and with the young talent we have on offense we will make a run next year).

Texas has Coach Strong's reputation for defense, his ability to put players high in the draft, and his domination of some high powered BigXII offenses. Texas has the best game day experiences and the best educational opportunities. But Strong is selling come here, work hard, have a chance to play early, and be part of building a legacy. He and his family love Strong and he is used to coaches in the Strong mold. Texas facilities aren't on the level and they don't have the academic support LSU does. Texas has no significant win, and the offense looks very
suspect sometimes and doesn't seem to have the talent that A&M does.

So there you have it. Texas continues to gain steam. LSU is coming on hard, and Aggie is fading. My feeling is that it is no longer a tossup.

If I had to bet $10,000 today, I would say Texas.

If Texas beats TCU (no matter how) or Texas gets him on campus, I get the feeling it is all over.

Tonight 50/30/20 Texas/A&M/LSU."

This is going to be a big class.

We have 18 commits, not counting Burt.

We should take between 28-30.

So, 10-12 more.
