The Rockwall running back has moved his list date to August 11th, which is Rockwall's first day of two-a-days.

Texas is expected to be on the list.

no longer putting my whole heart into these recruitment pronouncements.  the kai locksley incident.. has me disgusted!

jeezus. i'm going curmudeon again.

used to be a guy like campbell or similar choosing a school was news. now we're setting dates for guys who couldn't carry earl's jock to name their top 5? not commit...name their top 5 ??? and it's a thing to report?

i loathe the whole cottage recruting industry.

Like it or not, there are fans who enjoy this type of news...that's why guys like Mike report it.

But I do agree that announcing your top five is silly.

I think we get Warren.

My question is - Matt or Mike or both - what are we doing with Soso Jamabo? I've heard we chilled on him for a while but recently started talking to him again.

The way it was explained to me is that, while hoops is what's in Jamabo's heart, football is in his head. A few schools have mentioned playing both (Texas is not one of them) - UCLA could be a serious threat if they start talking about basketball.

Strong loves kids that can play multiple positions and/or sports. Jamabo definitely fits the profile, so it wouldn't surprise me if the Horns are in contact again (I'll ask around).

If Warren really is healthy you take him over Soso and I actually like his game more than others I have spoke to. The major negatives ive heard on Soso is his attitude is terrible and he doesn't always run as hard as he should with that size.

"Soso showed out big-time," Pospichal said. “And if an elite basketball college -- he's a really bright -- and a high-educational school comes in and were to say, 'Come play basketball,' I think Soso would entertain the idea of playing basketball because he loves it."

It would have to be a perfect marriage of coaches and opportunity, so it's anything but a certainty at this point. Jamabo said a few schools have offered, at least informally, the prospect of being allowed to play both. Those schools are Oklahoma (the first school to offer him a scholarship, when he was 16), UCLA, A&M and Baylor.

Couldn't agree more.

It's 2014, not 1970.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a guy nowadays that could carry Earls jock.

That's about like finding the next VY.
