Let's take the hostilities down a notch.

Spent Thursday and Friday in College station watching 8 7-7 games. Sunburned and tired but it was a blast. JR even got a mention in the SA express news.

Just finished grilling salmon and corn/cob that would make you pay money.

Duke, Gertrudis... I'll renew hostilities tomorrow, but about to fire up a Partagas on the back porch.

Life is good. Despite bellmonts malfeasance. That was for you duke.

Caught an 8 1/2 pounder at Lake Fork. Not my largest but made the trip worthwhile. Also had a hell of a greasy cheeseburger. It was great.

Watch my Rangers get swept again, "don't want to talk about it! Had some good food with family and one day closer to Texas football game....

I went to a funeral Saturday in Georgetown. A friend of mine from work lost her husband. He and their eldest son took a motorcycle trip together down to Kerrville recently. The son was riding in front. He glanced in his mirror and didn't see his dad, so he turned around. He hadn't gotten too far when he saw his dad's bike in the road on it's side. The first thing he saw when he looked around was a dying deer who was stuck in a fence. Then he saw his dad's body in the ditch. He was already dead. It was about dusk, which is about the time of day for deer to be out and about. Apparently, the deer was crossing the road and hadn't seen the motorcycle. The deer apparently missed the bike for the most part, but directly collided with Bob, killing him instantly.

Life sometimes is put into perspective. .. sorry for your loss. ..

Watched my son play baseball in a college showcase event.  Fun weekend in Centralia, WA.

Also of note, I was waiting, between games, in a city park.  Parked in my truck, windows down, near a pond off the main drive in said park, listening to music, just relaxing in the shade on a warm day.  I hear the familiar organ music from an ice cream truck in the distance.  As it gets closer, I see it's not an ice cream "truck," rather an ice cream "minivan."  That alone made me chuckle.  The song playing was not the old ice cream truck standard "Turkey in the Straw."  Nope.  It was......wait for it......."Oh Come All Ye Faithful."  I could not help but laugh.  Mid-July, west-central Washington, and this ice cream minivan is playing a Christmas song.  Gotta love it.  :D

That sucks Duke C.  Sorry for your loss, man.

my prayers are with you and the family dukec. keep your head up pal...

Duke, I am very sorry for your friend's loss of her husband.  Something like this could happen to any of us, any time, and it certainly puts things in perspective about where importance lies in our lives.  I certainly wish some our more spirited brethren would take this into their hearts.  I would hope that the last thing that I might do in my life would not be to insult someone over some of the trivial issues that we get so upset over on internet forums ... and to think we are reportedly even supposed to be on the same side in this great pursuit that we call Longhorn sports.

Pretty damn good. Spent Saturday with my family at a work function at Hawaiian Falls. Sunday we took our dog to the park while we had an open house and we are now really hoping for an offer. Nice long weekend..we don't get those very often!!

STP, what position does your son play? Kudos on the blurb in paper!

Spent Friday night - Saturday morning manning the pit as I smoked a brisket for my nephew's 6th birthday party. Thanks Joeywa for the guidance! The point turned out great!

Sunday, shot in the 80s for the first time from the white tees! Thanks 3xhornsdad for the great tips!!! Just finished softball game. Went 2-4 tonight and we lost 7-8.

Hoops with the kids, Talked to 5 GREAT Horn Sports members today, drank some interesting beers and eating a grilled chicken salad as I type this.

Watched half of "You've Got Mail" with the wife on Friday night.

Watched all of "That Thing You Do" with the wife on Saturday night.

Went to church all day Sunday and finished it off by watching the end of "The Prestige" and the middle of "Napoleon Dynomite".

You over achieving (you will have to be) single guys should take a look at this young lady.  She is into golf, fishing and softball and you will be hard pressed to keep up with her - but she sounds like a cool chick.

Oh, and she likes Mexican food as well.
