NORTHBROOK, Ill. – August 29, 2013 – The University of Texas is kicking off the 2013 college football season with a new addition to Darrell K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium – the Allstate “Good Hands®” Field Goal Net program. Texas is one of three new schools to partner with Allstate Insurance Company and participate in the ninth year of the “Good Hands®” Field Goal Net program, one of the most visible programs in college football.

This season, Longhorn fans have another reason to cheer for the kicker, as each successful extra point and field goal at home games generates money for their school’s general scholarship fund. During

games at Darrell K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium, starting with the matchup with New Mexico State on August 31, Allstate is donating $300 for each field goal and $100 for each extra point successfully converted by the Longhorns.

“Allstate is thrilled to have Texas as a partner in the ‘Good Hands®’ Nets program, an initiative we believe will have a positive impact both out on the football field and in the classroom,” said Lisa Cochrane, senior vice president of marketing for Allstate. “We share the same passion that Texas fans have for college football, and we will be cheering the Longhorns on to many field goals and extra points this season.”

In addition, Allstate plans to contribute $10,000 to UT’s Neighborhood Longhorns program, an educational outreach program in 31 Title 1 schools in east and south Austin that serves 5,500 fifth through eighth grade students with reading and after school mentorship programs.

Texas, Clemson University and the University of Maryland join 75 other colleges and universities at both the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision and Division I Football Championship Subdivision in the “Good Hands®” Field Goal Net program. Since 2005, Allstate has donated more than $3 million to partner schoolsÂ’ general scholarship funds.

The translucent netting that includes the “Good Hands®” logo has been placed in the north end zone at Darrell K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium and will be raised during all field goal and extra point attempts. The “Good Hands®” logo represents the companyÂ’s brand promise of “protection” and plays off its popular slogan, “YouÂ’re in good hands with Allstate®.”

Allstate and Texas Athletics will host a special kick promotion at halftime of the Longhorns’ home game on Thursday, November 28, where one lucky fan will be selected by the school to kick a 25-yard field

goal for $2,000, half of which will be donated to the Texas general scholarship fund.

In addition to the Allstate “Good Hands®” Field Goal Net program, Allstate’s expansive presence in college football includes its sponsorship of the Allstate® Sugar Bowl® and Allstate AFCA Good Works

Team®.

The Allstate sponsorship at University of Texas was brokered by IMG College, the school’s multimedia rights partner.
