The Longhorns did just that. Texas threw it all on the table and managed to beat Texas State by the score of 4-3 after trailing 2-0 early in the game. The star of the game was Kevin Lusson who hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 9th inning with the bases loaded.  Corey Knebel ended up with the win but Cole Green pitched well as the starter for the game.
With little time to celebrate, the Longhorns knew they needed to regather themselves to take on undefeated Kent State at 6:30 pm. Texas put up 3 runs in the first inning as the visitor team, then added another run int h second to make it a 4-0 game. Kent State put up two runs in the 3rd which managed to cut the Longhorn lead to 4-2. Texas scored runs in the 4th and 6th innings, while Kent State scored a run int he 7th inning making the Texas lead 6-3 in the 8th inning. Heading into the 9th inning, Texas had several base runners and 3 were knocked in on Kevin Lusson’s 3-run home run which saw the Longhorns take a 9-3 lead and win over Kent State.
