Kent State hits Grand Slam, Beats Texas 7-5

ALL pitchers have bad days.  Koufax, Cy Young, Bob Gibson, Bob Feller, Lefty Grove, Nolan Ryan, Taylor Jungmann.  Taylor Jungmann??  No, Taylor Jungmann is not in the league of these folks quite yet but the Junior Longhorn pitcher is one of the hottest names in college baseball.  Unfortunately he was roughed up in his first start in the Austin Regionals yesterday giving up 7 runs on 8 hits and was replaced by Andrew McKirihan.  After the 6th inning, Texas found themselves in a 7-2 hole and did not score any more runs until the 9th inning when the rally fell short and they scored only 3 more runs.

The Kent State Golden Flashes are undefeated in regional play and face the winner of the Texas vs. Texas State game which begins at 1:00 pm central time on Sunday.  The Longhorns must win 2 games today if they are to make it to the Austin NCAA Regional Championship game on Monday against Kent State.  Put the rally caps on and Hook ‘Em Horns!!!
